Overview

A low-profile boundary microphone for a defined kick-drum attack and full low-frequency sound, also suitable for piano. The Shure BETA 91A has a half-cardioid pickup pattern above its mounting surface, an integrated preamplifier and a standard balanced XLR output.

For kick drum, place it inside the drum on a pillow or another cushioning surface and adjust the position to balance attack and resonance. The underside contour switch offers a flat response or a low-mid cut for a more pronounced kick-drum sound.

Connect it with a balanced XLR microphone cable to an input with phantom power; 48 V is recommended. This listing is for the microphone; cabling and other accessories are not automatically included.
